PLEASE ANNOUNCE AND TAKE NOTE
Proposed Changes in Bus Service to SSU
A public hearing to consider Sonoma County Transit service reductions takes place Tues., May 12 at 2:10 p.m. Included in the proposed reductions is Express Route 46,
which services SSU. Currently, Express Route 46 leaves the Santa Rosa Transit Mall for SSU at 7:20 a.m. and arrives on campus at 7:45 a.m., in time for 8 a.m. work and classes. The proposed change would move back Express Route 46 to leave Santa Rosa at 8 a.m. and arrive at SSU around 8:30 a.m., too late for the start of normal work shifts and morning classes. Evening bus routes leaving SSU may also change. The proposed reductions, if approved, would begin in July.
"Your voice is needed to keep the 7:20 am departure time," says Cathi Cari-Shudde, administrative coordinator at SSU. "Even if you don't currently ride the bus, please speak up in support of those that rely on the bus as their main transportation to work and classes."
The public hearing takes place in the meeting room of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sonoma (County Administration Center, 575 Administration Drive, Room 102A, Santa Rosa). All are welcome to attend. For more information, visit the Sonoma County Transit website.
