The organizing committee for the second Annual Labor And Social Action Summer School, held at Sonoma State University July 9-11, 1999, has released its "North Bay Social Action Agenda." The agenda was developed over three days at the Labor and Social Action Summer School attended by over 150 North Bay union, environmental, and social justice activists.
The final morning of the Summer School some 60 activists formulated a consensual statement of needed social actions and socio-economic and environmental changes for the North Bay region. "The agenda is a list of on-going important activities and needs for the North Bay region," stated schools spokesperson Peter Phillips, associate professor of sociology at Sonoma State University. "This agenda will confirm to activists throughout the area specific social actions currently being or needing to be addressed," he said. Individuals at the conference signed up to start or continue working on committees in each of the areas on the agenda. Names of area activists working on each agenda item can be obtained from by calling 545-7349, extension 18.
