The Board of Trustees of The California State University has approved the Sonoma State University music center to be named the Donald and Maureen Green Music Center. Don Green, a successful Sonoma County entrepreneur, and his wife Maureen, an SSU alumna, have gifted over $10 million toward the new center. The Greens' generosity and commitment extends far beyond the gift itself. As performers, consultants, and volunteers, the Green family has played an integral role in planning the center and the Summer Festival associated with it.
The Green donation provides funds that will enable Sonoma State University to establish itself as a world-class center for music and other performing arts. According to SSU President Ruben Armi-ana, "The Greens' gift has set a high standard for philanthropic giving in the region, laid the foundation for a major capital campaign to raise additional funds, and inspired a large-scale, spirited community effort to make this center a reality."
