SSU Professor to Testify Before Congress

Sonoma State University professor Dr. Alexandra Von Meier has been invited by Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey to testify at a Congressional hearing on Thursday, May 3 in Washington D.C.

Von Meier will make comments at a hearing of the Subcommittee on Energy of the Committee on Science called "Energy Realities: Rates of Consumption, Energy Reserves and Future Options." Woolsey is a ranking minority member of that committee.

The environmental sciences professor was part of a panel at a recent energy hearing held by Woolsey at Sonoma State University attended by nearly 200 people. She is currently heading up final construction of the campus Environmental Technology Center and is an expert on renewable and sustainable technologies and on energy policy.
