Changing Major to Business Administration
Beginning with the fall 2011 semester, the Business major has become impacted; students applying to the University as prospective business majors must enhanced admission requirements. In addition students wanting to declare as business administration must meet the following requirements:
1. Students wanting to declare or change into the Business Administration major must attend a Pre-Business Workshop before submitting the request form to declare the major. Students must sign-up ahead of time in order to attend a Pre-Business Workshop (dates below).
2. Any class that meets a Pre-Business requirement must have a grade of C or higher or must be repeated to earn a grade of C or higher before declaring Pre-Business as a major.
3. The student must meet the following requirements based on the number of units completed at the time the student declares Pre-Business as a major:
Students must bring their Change of Major form to the School of Business and Economics office (STEV 2042) rather than Admission & Records, with documentation of the requirements described above.
Change of Major forms turned in after the end of October (Fall Semester) or end of March (Spring semester) will not be processed in time for early registration. Check in with the main SBE office to find out the deadline for the current semester.
*Any student wishing to major in Business Administration initially declares Pre-Business as a major. The student files a Request for Change of Status (Blue Form) to indicate that all Pre-Business requirements are satisfied. Upon verification, the department changes the student's major from Pre-Business to Business Administration.
