Priority 5: Focuses on proven strategies for recruiting and serving
hard-to-reach populations—including students who are limited English
proficient, students from groups who are traditionally underrepresented
in postsecondary education, students who are individuals with disabilities,
students who are homeless children and youth, students who are foster
care youth, or other disconnected students. The new methods and
strategies introduced in this training are applicable for all students. See U.S.
Dept. of Educ. TRIO Newsletter featuring this training.
Priority 6: Training for new directors with less than 2-years experience. This
training is strictly designed for new directors. Other TRIO staff can apply;
however, they will be placed on a waiting list and only accepted when seats
that are not filled by new directors become available.
Please Note: Sonoma is not the only grantee funded by the U.S. Dept. of
Education for Priority 6. Please be advised that you can only register for one
Priority 5 and one Priority 6 within the same grant year, regardless of the
venue or the grantee.
