The Green Music Center presents a brand-new world music festival this weekend, September 23 and 24: Global Roots Sonoma, featuring three stages, artist-led workshops, food trucks, and a variety of musical traditions. Global Roots Sonoma connects Sonoma County to the globe through music and celebration.

Experience the Green Music Center in a new way, with multiple stages in use from 1 to 7 p.m. You’ll hear artists in Weill Hall and Schroeder Hall, as well as on a big stage outside facing the lawn (bring your own chair or blanket). There’s also a workshop stage where artists will talk about their work and meet audience members. See the schedule to get a sense of how to navigate the day.

The festival is a chance to hear new music by 12 amazing bands, including SSU favorite Las Cafeteras with its Afro-Mexican rhythms from East L.A. Don’t miss the incredible artist lineup with music from Mexico, Hawaii, Scotland, Colombia, France, Eastern Europe, and the US. All are entertaining performers deeply rooted in tradition, making music that speaks to our times.

Global Roots Sonoma will feature food trucks and local beverages, and you can bring your own picnic. Both days are great for the whole family, and Sunday includes children’s music artist Tia Leah’s Neighborhood and other activities for kids.
