Friday, March 15, 2024, 9:15am

TO: Campus Community
FR: J. Dana Twedell, AVP Facilities Management

The Rancho Adobe Fire Department (RAFD) will be performing training exercises beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18 at Darwin Hall. The purpose of the exercises is to become better acquainted with Darwin Hall's fire suppression system and emergency shutoffs. Additionally, they will practice maneuvering and positioning their fire truck around the building, extending ladders to the roof.

The campus community should be aware this activity is only a training drill coordinated between RAFD and SSU; there is no active emergency at Darwin Hall.

Facilities Management will also be performing maintenance repairs on the domestic hot water system at Darwin Hall between Monday, March 18 and Friday, March 22. This will impact both domestic hot water use as well as comfort heating to the building’s HVAC system. During this time, the building will feel a little cooler than usual, so please prepare to dress accordingly. This work will begin the morning of March 18 and be completed by the end of the day March 22. During this scheduled repair, cold water will still be available for normal use.

Please contact Facilities Management at fmwo@sonoma.edu or call (707) 664-2317 if you have any heating concerns or other questions.

Thank you.
