We are excited to share that Sonoma State University (SSU) will proudly return as an Organizing Sponsor at this year's Sonoma County Pride celebration! We had a great turnout last year and are looking forward to building on that momentum to have an expanded presence this year in the parade, festival, and other related events leading up to the main weekend.
Join us on Thursday, May 30, at noon by the flagpoles at the main entrance to campus off East Cotati Avenue. Together with the Queer Faculty & Staff Association (QFASA) and the Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, we'll kick off the celebrations for Pride Month by raising the Pride Flag. After the flag raising, enjoy some pizza at Weyden + Brewster (W&B) in the Student Center and make a sign to carry in the parade. Supplies for sign-making will also be available to pick up for those who wish to create one on their own time.
Please also mark your calendar for Saturday, June 1 to join SSU at Sonoma County Pride. The parade begins at 11 a.m., with line-up starting at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Santa Rosa. We invite students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other friends, family, and allies to join the fun.
Interested in participating? Fill out the Volunteer Registration Survey to indicate your interest. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate SSU’s core values tied to diversity and community engagement. Together, let’s make Sonoma County Pride 2024 a monumental expression of the university’s commitment to inclusivity!
