David Bromige's recent books include The Harbormaster of Hong Kong (Sun & Moon), A Cast of Tens (Avec Books), and From the First Century (Potes & Poets Press). In 1988, his selected poems, Desire (Black Sparrow Press), won the Western States Book Award. He is also the winner of a Gertrude Stein Award for Innovative Writing, a Pushcart Prize, and several Fellowships from the Canada Council and The National Endowment for the Arts. He has work in such recent anthologies as From the Other Side of the Century (Sun & Moon), Likely Stories (Coachhouse), Fifty (Sun & Moon), and Action Poetique (Fondation Royaumont). Professor Emeritus of English at Sonoma State University, where he taught from 1970-92, he has been a visiting educator at Naropa, Squaw Valley, the University of British Columbia, the College of New Caledonia, the California College of Arts & Crafts, Simon Fraser University, UC Berkeley and other notable institutions.

Elizabeth C. Herron paints and writes. She is the author of three books, Desire Being Full of Distances, a collection of poems (Calliopea Press, 1983), While the Distance Widens, a collection of short stories (Floating Island, 1992), The Stones the Dark Earth, a chapbook (Harlequin Ink, 1995), and an audio cassette, Inside the World (Thursday Nights Press, 1986). She lives in Sonoma County, California and teaches at Sonoma State University. Elizabeth's images on these pages are all aproximately 4.5 x 7.5 inches, watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic and ink.
