Plan a 10 minute presentation including time for
questions. This is an approximate time frame, as some papers
will generate more discussion than others. The upper limit
will be 15 minutes per person. A time keeper will keep
things on schedule. The following is a list of books and journals available
in the library which have papers of immunological interest.
You may find something of interest elsewhere; this list is
intended as an introductory guide to literature in
immunology. Stick to current (the last 2-3 years) original
research literature for your presentation. Advances in Immunology Cell In addition to journals available in the information
center [library], you may also access some others
on-line. To check availability, use the library's web page
and look under "journals on-line". You may also check for a
specific journal's availability at nearby libraries as
well. .
Choose one recent paper representing the topic
area chosen for presentation. A sign-up sheet will be
made available in discussion section. Make a copy of the
abstract and any essential tables, graphs, etc. The abstract
is often all that is needed for understanding. Be sure to
include the journal's name, volume number, and pages. Write
your name at the top of the handout. Limit the handout to
one page. Fifteen copies are needed for class. [If you
have problems getting copies, see me.]
