A Face to the Title


Emily Hostutler was hired this February as a Research Coordinator for the NoGap/McNair Scholars program, under the direction of Daniel Smith. Alongside of her own creative and academic pursuits, Emily has worked in tutoring, advising and academic and/or community based mentorial programs for more than 12 years. She is an alum of the English Masters program at Sonoma State University where she focused on modern and post-modern literature, and creative writing. Emily continues to write fiction and was most recently published in VOLT and the Pomona Valley Review.



Emily and her family are originally from Philadelphia, PA and moved to the area several years ago. In Philadelphia, Emily attended and worked at both Temple University (where she received her undergraduate degree in Film and Media Arts) and University of Pennsylvania (working as a Research Coordinator and taking MA writing courses).
