As the winter break approaches, students who will be graduating in 2022 may want to begin making plans with parents, family and loved ones for the upcoming Commencement ceremonies.
Save the date for the 2022 Commencement ceremonies which will be held at the Green Music Center on the weekend of May 21 – 22, 2022. The date of each academic school’s Commencement is shown below, however the time and sequence of the ceremonies has not yet been finalized. These additional details about the Commencement schedule will be provided in early 2022.

Graduation Eligibility & Application Process
You are eligible to participate in Commencement 2022 if you:
- Graduated in Fall 2021
- Have applied for graduation in Spring 2022
- Have applied for graduation in Summer 2022

Students seeking an exception to participate in Spring 2022 Commencement, will find more information available on the Commencement website in January 2022.
Commencement is a ceremony to honor our annual graduates but please keep in mind that participation is optional and is not the same as actually graduating from SSU. You will officially graduate after grades have been finalized and only if ALL degree requirements were completed by the end of the semester you applied to graduate in. The ARR (Academic Requirements Report) determines a student's graduation eligibility and the current ‘graduation status’ is listed at the top left corner of the ARR. If you have questions or concerns about your graduation status, please contact your graduation team specialist in the office of the registrar.
Cultural and Affinity graduation celebrations
In addition to the university Commencement ceremony, there are also a number of Cultural and Affinity graduation celebrations planned. Students and families may choose to attend these celebrations as well as their school Commencement. More details about cultural and affinity celebrations will be available in the early 2022.
Finally, staff and faculty are copied in this message so that they too may plan to join you in the celebration of your graduation.
