Monday, March 25, 2024, 9:30am

TO: All Employees
FR: Amanda McGowan, Deputy CIO

The campus transition to digital phones is now complete. The Information Technology department would like to thank the campus community for their support and assistance with this important transformation of our telephone services. The project was initiated to transform work and communication at Sonoma State by fostering increased flexibility, innovation, and collaboration opportunities. The project started on April 25, 2023 and concluded February 27, 2024 with the successful migration of over 600 individual user phone lines, 214 department phone lines, and 400 analog lines.

The IT Project Management Office (PMO) will be hosting a Lessons Learned event on Wednesday, April 24th at 4pm in Student Center Ballroom B/C. This event is part of an ongoing series the PMO team is implementing to allow for open feedback, communication, and collaboration on projects between the campus and IT. Lessons Learned: Digital Phones is a time for the campus to come together to celebrate the completion of this project, review the hurdles and the success, ask questions, and/or provide general feedback.

As a prelude to Lessons Learned: Digital Phones, IT would greatly appreciate your participation in a brief survey. The lessons learned from this project will be reviewed and incorporated in future projects. Please complete the survey by 5 p.m. on March 29, 2024.

The survey results will be shared with the campus community in various formats and forums, including a presentation at the staff council meeting on Tuesday, April 16, a presentation at the Lessons Learned event on Wednesday, April 24, and ultimately will be published to the IT website.

Thank you all for your collaboration and feedback during this critical project!
