TO: Campus Community
FR: Neil Markley, Associate Vice President, Administration and Finance

Beginning August 1, 2025, Sonoma State University campus Culinary Services venues and Campus Prints will transition to a cashless payment system.

Transitioning to a cashless payment environment will allow us to deliver faster, more efficient service while continuing to ensure convenient access to the essential amenities that support daily life on campus.

The following locations will no longer accept cash payments starting August 1:

  • Lobo’s
  • Sip
  • The Kitchens
  • Toast
  • Campus Prints

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit/Debit Cards
  • Tap to Pay
  • Mobile Wallet Apps (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)
  • Wolfbucks/Dining Dollars via the Seawolf Card

The University Store will continue to accept cash payments.

While we implement this transition and to maintain accessibility for all, we will provide a location for individuals to convert cash to Wolfbucks. Students, faculty, and staff can also add Wolfbucks anytime through the SSU Portal or by visiting the Seawolf Service Center. In addition, we recognize there will be instances where a cashless environment may not be ideal, such as large visiting groups, tours, etc. Arrangements can be made in advance to accommodate such external groups through our Kitchens reservation form.
