Facilities Management would like to notify the campus of planned rolling power outages to take place overnight next week as part of the campus 12kV electrical infrastructure upgrade. The work will take place from 11 p.m. Tuesday, August 19 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, with each location on campus experiencing a single outage lasting approximately 15 minutes during the course of the work. Outages will begin with academic buildings and then transition to residential buildings.
Facilities Management recommends that individuals with desktop computers not connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) ensure their work is saved before 11 p.m. Tuesday, August 19.
This project replaces aging electrical equipment to enhance system capacity and improve reliability, ensuring the campus is well-equipped to meet current needs and future growth. These upgrades will also reduce the risk of unplanned outages and support sustainable energy initiatives.
