TO: Campus Community
FR: Stacey J. Bosick, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dear Campus Colleagues,

Sonoma State will be hosting a site visit from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) this week, September 10-12, 2025. During this visit, faculty, staff, and students will have opportunities to meet with the review team and provide informal input about their experiences with the institution and share their insights. Students are encouraged to comment on issues of academic rigor and consistency, availability of student support services, accuracy of information provided by the institution, and other matters related to the quality of the educational experience.

You are encouraged to participate by attending the open forum that best fits your role:

  • Faculty Forum: Thursday, September 11 at 11-11:45 a.m. - Stevenson Hall 1400
  • Student Forum: Thursday, September 11 at 1-1:45 p.m. - Stevenson Hall 1300
  • Staff Forum: Thursday, September 11 at 2-2:45 p.m. - Stevenson Hall 1300

All are also welcome to attend the exit meeting during which the team will read their preliminary commendations and recommendations to the campus:

  • Exit Meeting: Friday, September 12 at 10-10:30 a.m. - Wine Spectator 1001

WSCUC understands that not everyone who may wish to participate can attend these meetings, and they have therefore established a confidential email account to give everyone the opportunity to communicate with the team. To write to the WSCUC team, please address your email to [email protected].

The confidential email account has been created by WSCUC staff solely for this visit, and only authorized WSCUC staff and team members have access to it. No representatives of Sonoma State University will have access. The account will be closed once the WSCUC team concludes its visit. Please note that only comments submitted before or during the visit will be considered as part of the review process.

Institutional reports, on-campus interviews, open forums, and email comments all form part of the information collected and reviewed by the team. Team members will not respond individually to comments submitted through any of these venues, including the confidential email account. However, all input - together with other information gathered - will be carefully considered by the team as it conducts its review and develops recommendations for the institution.

To find more on the accreditation process or review the Institutional Report, visit the SSU Institutional Accreditation website.

Thank you for joining me in extending a warm welcome to the review team as they learn more about our campus.
