I hope everyone will join me in thanking the dozens of SSU staff, especially in Facilities Maintenance and Emergency Management, who worked around the clock Saturday through Sunday to remediate the campus water issue and ensure Sonoma State would be fully and safely operational today. Thanks, as well, to Campus Housing, Culinary Services, and Strategic Communications staff who ensured that residents on campus were fed, had water, and all of us were kept informed of the situation.
The cause of the water disruption is still being investigated, but the chief concern of SSU staff during the weekend was resolving the problem and restoring all water supplies and lines to safe status. That the issue was resolved in such a timely fashion is testament to the commitment, teamwork, and pride that Sonoma State staff take in their campus and in being of highest and best service to every member of our community.
Many, many thanks to every employee who made solving the problem their top priority and wouldn’t rest until the work was done. You are a huge part of what makes Sonoma State University a great place to learn, work, and live.
